About Me
With over 9 years experience as an on staff editor and journalist for major international fashion publications around the world, I have experience in both the business and editorial sides of magazine publishing : writing, section editing, consulting on launches and relaunches, photo shoot production, fashion styling and development. I'm a principal at Imaginas Creativo, a small firm I have developed that will serve to fuse and integrate itself in development and innovation within industries of fashion, books, and film. We will publish specialty books that deal with art, philosophy, photography, fashion, the craft of writing, sociology and women's issues. ICreativo also works to help fund startup businesses that want to make their mark and innovate within fashion, beauty, and all forms of media. In the film industry, we write, consult and help produce independent films, donate grants to screenwriters and filmmakers who need assistance in developing their projects and assist them in creating a production team for their efforts to bring their projects to fruition. ICreativo is also committed to being a part of young artist, photographers, writers and journalists lives and careers, in giving grants to students and those just starting out in their respective fields each year through a selective process. On a personal note, I am currently also in development on a script I have written about a young woman who struggles to define her life breaking the ties of her Iranian culture and family, working against her society's expectations and pursuing her own loves, passions and desires. I am also completing a novel about three generations of Portuguese women - mother, daughter, grandmother - who are forced to face modernity in 70s' Lisbon and unravel their secrets to one another in order to escape the bitterness of the past; in addition to developing a course series in fashion and teaching at MediaBistro and a related nonfiction book about the industry.
