Film, theatre, anything and everything having to do with entertainment. History buff (particularly American colonial history), and interest in other cultures (I've traveled all through Europe and parts of the Middle East).
"The Courage to Create" by Rollo May for inspiration.
Grimm's Fairy Tales for ageless stories.
"Bleak House" by Charles Dickens and most anything else by him, because he knew how
to keep his audience engaged.
Chaplin's "The Kid," "The Gold Rush," and "City Lights."
Scorsese's "GoodFellas," "Taxi Driver," and "Raging Bull."
American Beauty, Apocalypse Now, E.T., The 400 Blows, Lawrence of Arabia -- very eclectic taste!
HBO shows: Curb Your Enthusiasm, Entourage, Big Love (and The Sopranos, RIP)
Heroes, Boston Legal, Nip/Tuck, The Shield, 24, Lost, Pushing Daisies, Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives.
Guilty pleasures: Dancing With the Stars and American Idol
I've spent many years in the radio business, going from Music Director at rock radio to senior management in programming, production, marketing and digital media. I've got a tremendous respect for the written word, and have always enjoyed working with writers and storytellers who worked in multiple media.
Interested at trying my hand at film development, because I think all of my previous experience would actually translate to another medium. I've taken classes for a few years now in film and television so that I could learn the "jargon" better -- surprisingly, the basics are the same across all media.
