Welcoming Kyle, StoryLink's new Communty Leader

Since StoryLink's inception, I have had the great privilege of overseeing this unique community composed exclusively of talented writers and filmmakers.

As Community Leader, my goal has been to promote and foster our community while providing fellow members with the highest level of support.

It has been truly exciting to be part of the StoryLink team from the beginning and to help the site evolve into what it is today. It has also been a pleasure to meet so many creative professionals, both virtually and face-to-face.

And so it is with a mixture of accomplishment and sadness that I announce my resignation as Community Leader and the appointment of new leadership in Kyle.

Upon hearing this news, you might be tempted to rush off to delete your account. I understand. I'd miss me too. However, please know our community will be in very capable hands. Kyle's not only a writer, he's also a nice guy! So add him as a contact, and if you have any questions, just send him a message.

As for me, I'm excited about the production position I've taken with digital entertainment start-up DECA located in Santa Monica. However, I also plan to remain active on StoryLink as a regular member, so be sure to say hello!

I'm new to this site and I find it to be very inspirational. I wish I had found Story Link earlier in my career.

Thanks for everything, Lisa. This place wouldn't have been the same without your invaluable contributions. Break a leg.

Sorry you won't be the community leader anymore, but congrats on the production position at DECA. Best of luck!

In reply to Blog:

"Why'd I cancel Netflix"

Netflix has been great, but I went over to the Dark Side for a few months, to Block Buster (cue scary music). Now I won't get into any Netflix v. Blockbuster thing :) But I'll say the In-store exchange that Blockbuster have/had was a gravy train, I got A Lot of movies the few months I was signed up. But I still got my Netflix account on hold, so I'll start up again soon :)

I hope this link works,

Lisa, what is the best way to network through storylink? I went to the pitchfest thinking I'd meet many writers from storylink, but did not. I think I saw you, but you seemed occupied with many other people.

It'd be nice to network thorugh storylink, just want to know the most approachable way. I have noticed, like some actors, writers are quite shy and timid.

a tree grows in Brooklyn... I love that book. That's a pretty funny article you have on this page as well. I've thankfully been through all those stages already...

Thank you wholeheartedly for your welcome to this wonderful site. How remiss of me, to suffer some selective amnesia in that regard, especially in light of all your patience with my questions. Keep up the great work!

Hello Lisa,

Thanks for the warm welcome. This community is definitely helpful for writers to network and eventually make new friends.

Hey, Lisa,

Thanks for the invite to the group. I'll likely be in from time to time when I get a few other things finalized.

I've recently added my latest screenplay effort on Inktip, sent it to Scriptapalooza for their contest and to Final Drafts contest. Here's hoping.

If anything comes up you think I should know about please e-mail me.

Thanks,

Victor
