Interests

I love to write and read, of course. I also enjoy cooking, gardening, helping to promote other authors and encouraging others to take the plunge. You just never know if you don't at least try, thus my quote: "Dreams can be turned into reality if one has the courage to try. Failure comes only to those who don't."

I have also donated twice to the Locks of Love Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that helps children undergoing cancer treatments by providing wigs. Children can often be mean to other children and their appearance is very important to them.

I have a charities page on my website where I promote some of my favorite charities and also a few that have come across my path along my journey to becoming an author and a few who have requested to be listed on my site with the hopes of getting some much needed help.

Books

Too many to even begin telling you about.

Movies

Favorite would be "The Ten Commandments". I like action packed films, comedys and family oriented movies. Loathe documentaries, love happy endings.

Some of my other favorite movies would be Ghost, The Pacifier, The Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremacy, Collateral, Meet the Faulkers, Walking Tall, Paycheck, Are We There Yet?, The Whole Ten Yards, Little Man, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Fractured and the list goes on, but unfortunately, my memory doesn't :)

Television

Well now, when I have time, and it's rare as I'm so busy, but I do enjoy watching Navy NCIS, CSI, CSI Miami, don't like the New York version (is that Doc Bones from Star Trek's son playing the main character? The resemblance is uncanny!)

Also enjoy watching Medium, Ugly Betty (who-da-thunk!), Cold Case, Dead Zone, Monk, Psyche, Criminal Minds (I guess Greg left Dharma?) and a few others maybe.

About Me

I was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa. I've been an avid reader since early childhood and always dreamed of oneday, becoming a writer. I attended and graduated from Assumption High School in 1975, married my husband, Robert, in 1976, and we moved to Missouri in 1986 when my mother became terminally ill. We decided to stay and make it our home.

After gaining employment in 2003 with our local small-town newspaper, my dream to write resurfaced. With encouragement from both my husband and sister, I wrote my first novel, Chasing Memories. It was published in 2006.

Chasing Memories is the first in an Inspirational Fiction trilogy series. Shades of Blue followed with publication in 2007. I am currently working on the final novel in the series, Crystal Clear. Debra LaVelle, my sister and a former journalism teacher, volunteered as my editor. She can be brutal! but she's very good at what she does.

Goal

After this trilogy, I plan to write some mystery/suspense novels, which are my favorite to read actually.

My husband is disabled and my ultimate goal is become well established as an author and be able to write full time, so that I may be home with him, where I'm needed.
