SCREENWRITING COMPETITION:
The Big Bear Lake Screenwriting Competition stresses providing opportunities for winning screenwriters to make key film industry contacts and to have their script read by our jury panel of Hollywood professionals. With contacts made through our competition, one of our winners, Iris Yamashita, recently worked directly with Paul Haggis and Clint Eastwood to write the Academy Award nominated film, Letters From Iwo Jima, the companion movie of Flags of Our Fathers. Another winner signed with a manager and just sold the script she entered in the competition. Another signed with an agent and sold a screenplay not entered based on the attention gained by the one entered. And other winners have signed with agents or managers and made valuable contacts they are still utilizing.

We also strive to provide all entrants with valuable feedback. We are one of very few competitions that sends back written evaluations on every screenplay entered---for no additional fee! Every screenplay receives a minimum of three written evaluations from our competition readers. Those that advance to the second level of reading or beyond, receive six written evaluations.

FILM FESTIVAL & FILM COMPETITION
All films screened are selected from the submissions the festival receives. Jury and Audience awards are presented at the festival. the festival has panels and workshops with film industry professionals.
