Books

I enjoy the adaptation process. The essential choices made at the concept stage to find the best movie within the original text are both delicate and powerful. The filmic narrative must remain true to the heart of that elemental material. I have guided screenwriters and authors in adapting books, comic books, games, graphic novels, articles, and life stories, including their own, into effective, marketable screenplays for film and television. From ComiCon to Book Expo, my "Big Picture" understanding of the entertainment marketplace is a great asset to any creator or adaptor of intellectual properties.

Movies

As a former development executive, and now, as an independent development consultant, I have over a decade of experience shaping material for both studio and independent features, from concept to polish. I have worked with writers and producers to create pitches, pitch packages, treatments, scriptments, and outlines, plus screenplay specs, adaptations, rewrites, feature animation, emergency & budget re-writes, shorts, slates, and I have consulted on stories in post production. I have two academic degrees in film, including an MFA in screenwriting, and happily, I use them both every day. I also have experience in the video gaming industry.

Television

My consulting services for hour-long TV writers include series development for spec pilots from concept and character work to polish and punch up. I also consult on animated television projects and video games.
