About Me

As a filmmaker and screenwriter, you end up doing just about anything and everything. My original screenplay, LINEWATCH, is shooting in New Mexico Summer 2007, starring Cuba Gooding, Jr., directed by Kevin Bray, distrib. by Sony Pictures Entertainment. I directed OCEAN PARK and some second unit stuff like on EVERYTHING THAT RISES. I served as a VP in Charge of Production at Propaganda Films. As a freelance Producer I did tons of music videos and commercials. I produced KILL ME AGAIN and random short projects like THE COWBOY AND THE FRENCHMAN, directed by David Lynch. I even wrote, directed and produced some episodes of DEEP SEA DETECTIVES for the History Channel.

My teaching work includes serving as Advisor for the Sundance Institute Eastern European Screenwriters Lab in Prague, Chezk Republic in 2001. I have taught screenwriting at Loyola Marymount, UCLA Extension, and Santa Monica College, and developed new courses like Screenwriting for Feature Animation and Crafting the Thriller.

As a consultant, I work with lots of writers from pro to novice, through my website www.storysolver.com.

Other than that, I have no life except I am having a baby in July 07, with my screenwriter wife, Megan Steinbeck.

Goal

Write better scripts! Do more consulting and story analysis and teaching work. Make another movie soon.
