About Me

I am a novelist, screenwriter, songwriter/musician, a former NYC actor with a Broadway credit in a show starring Christopher Hewitt ("Mr. Belvedere" on TV), a Certified Flight Instructor, a Category Winner in The American Song Festival, and a Paramedic/Lieutenant for Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue Department. My present job is both dangerous and exciting, but it also allows me to experience the daily lives and tragedies of common everyday people who are often overlooked and mistreated by society. This 'window' into the real world has helped me as a writer and changed me as a member of the human race. I'm more patient and compassionate now, I personally see what has caused so much grief, sorrow and pain in other people's lives, and through this I am better able as a writer to put into words that which conveys the deepest emotions of my own characters.

My latest screenplay "Esperancia" is the Winner of the Independent Filmmakers Alliance Universal Feature Length Screenplay Competition, and during the last 12 months it has been in the top 13 of the Cynosure Screenwriting Awards, top 35 in the Century City Screenwriting Competition, Finalist in WriteMovies Contest #12 and #15, Top 25% in the Expo 5 Competition, Quarter-Finalist in Filmmaker's International, Page and Slamdance competitions, top 10 in four others (Anything but Hollywood, Screenwriters Showcase Awards, StoryPros and VisionFest competition) it has been accepted into the Indie Fest Film Festival in Chicago, and recently was in the top 6 in the Action on Film Festival in Long Beach, where it vied for Best Script and Best Dramatic Scene.

I am working hard on my next project, an Action/Thriller with some world changing consequences and a little paranormal thrown in for good measure. My goal is to create compelling stories that reach into the depths of the human experience while still offering hope in a world that seems bent on destroying what little hope my characters appear to have.

Goal

To write stories that are intriguing, touch the deepest part of who we are as human beings, and make us laugh once in a while.
