Call for writers

My name is David Rozansky, and I am the publisher of Flying Pen Press, a new book publishing company out of Denver. We are seeking submissions of book manuscripts for fiction and nonfiction.

Finding good novelists and book authors is not an easy task. We get plenty of submissions, but finding good writers is tough, and we reject many of the manuscripts. It occurred to me that perhaps there are great writers out there who are being overlooked, and it dawned on me: screenwriters. While the medium is different, the act of telling a great story and the process of writing are very much the same. In fact, screenwriters are more attuned to the processes of character development and plots.

And so I have come to Storyline to put out a call for writers.

Flying Pen Press is currently open to non fiction and to science fiction. We are trying to fill our catalog of science fiction novels for the World Science Fiction conventions, which will beheld in Denver in 2008. After January 2008, we will once again be open to all types of fiction.

For more information and a copy of our submission guidelines, please visit www.FlyingPenPress.com. I have listed much of what we are looking for on my Storyline profile, as well.

About Me

Publisher of Flying Pen Press, a small book-publishing company out of Denver, Colorado.

Flying Pen Press publishes fiction and nonfiction. We cover most all genres of fiction and in nonfiction, with specific imprints for game books, business books, travel books and travelogues, and regional titles (Colorado, Southwest USA, Rocky Mountain West, National Parks). We also have a nonprofit imprint, The Press for Humanitarian Causes.

Flying Pen Press has a three-part philosophy: First, treat writers with the utmost in respect. Second, focus on delivering books of high-quality. Third, use the latest technology to reduce capital costs and give retailers the products and terms they require.

Goal

Flying Pen Press is interested in book submissions from all types of writers and storytellers. It is our belief that the field of screenwriters and playwrights has been relatively untapped in finding great new books. We would like to hear from these writers with their ideas for novels and nonfiction books.

Writers interested in submitting books to Flying Pen Press can do so by sending email to Submissions@FlyingPenPress.com. Submission guidelines are posted at FlyingPenPress.com.
