Michael Wiese is an American filmmaker, author, seminar leader, and publisher living in Cornwall. As an independent filmmaker he is best known for the "Star Wars" parody HARDWARE WARS, DOLPHIN and Shirley MacLaine's video, INNER WORKOUT.
As an industry entertainment executive he was a Director at Showtime and a Vice President at Vestron Video. He has been involved in the production, acquisition, and/or marketing of over 300 videos including National Geographic, Smithsonian, NOVA and PBS.
Currently he oversees Michael Wiese Productions (www.mwp.com) which publishes a line of over 100 professional film and video books that are used in over 600 film schools throughout the world.
He has presented independent seminars for The American Film Institute, Roger Ebert's Film Festival, Kodak (at Cannes) among many others. His most recent work is a documentary feature - THE SACRED SITES OF THE DALAI LAMAS. He is currently is preparing to direct a feature - BALI BROTHERS.
