Interests

Alternative pop rock music, writing and home-recording my own songs, working on the web, walking in the great outdoors. Action, fantasy, science fiction, horror, thriller, gangster, some comedy, and romance movies.

Books

I have fond memories of reading Henry Miller. Thomas Pynchon. Robert Heinlein. I read a lot of PC-tech and political non-fiction, alas, and I read a lot of articles on the web for writing-related research. I've read over 60 books on screenwriting and the movie business. There's always more to learn about everything.

Movies

Casablanca; It's a Wonderful Life; Chinatown; Rosemary's Baby; Animal House; Platoon; Blue Velvet; The Untouchables; Raiders of the Lost Ark; Romancing the Stone; Wild at Heart; Jacob's Ladder; Goodfellas; Batman Returns; Pulp Fiction; The Shawshank Redemption; The Usual Suspects; L.A. Confidential; Fight Club; The Matrix; The Lord of the Rings; The Incredibles; The X-Men; Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Animal House, and Love, Actually. I expect these will be joined by "The Watchmen" in 2009.

Television

With my aversion to commercials and the modern experience of series I start watching being killed in their cribs, I keep my investment in TV time very low. When I do watch, it's mostly comedy series reruns of Seinfeld, Frasier, The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, or The Andy Griffith Show.

About Me

I have four completed screenplays, two in progress, and two in the planning stages. Scripts I have written have placed in contests with words attached like "winner," "finalist," "semi-finalist," and "quarterfinalist." Still looking to get the right script to the right person at the right time, though.

Here's what I've done so far, most recent first:

SOUL ON FIRE
