About Me

Richard Walter is head of UCLA's Department of Film and Television, and author of "Screenwriting: The Art, Craft and Business of Film and Television Writing" and the newest work, "The Whole Picture: A Screenwriters Handbook." He is a published novelist and author of the best selling "Escape from Film School." A member of the Screen Writers Guild of America for over 20 years, he has written numerous feature assignments for the major studios, and has sold material to the "big three" television networks. Mr. Walter lectures on screenwriting across the U.S.and around the world, including tours to the People's Republic of China and the Middle East.
