Edward Gorsuch

About Me

Edward Gorsuch is a writer-director and producer with over eighteen years of experience in the entertainment industry. He is a graduate of the USC School of Cinema/Television and has participated in all aspects of filmmaking, from development to distribution. Over the course of his career, has worked with such diverse creative talents as Roger Corman, Ed. Weinberger, Lawrence Kasdan, and Kevin Reynolds.

In 1989, Gorsuch joined Kevin Costner’s Tig Productions and was directly involved in the production of the Oscar-winning film Dances With Wolves. While on staff at Tig, Gorsuch worked in various capacities on a diverse slate of projects, including The Bodyguard, China Moon, and the CBS mini-series 500 Nations.

In 1993, Gorsuch turned down a coveted slot in the Directors Guild of America’s trainee program in order to travel to remote Easter Island for the production of the Warner Bros feature Rapa Nui. Gorsuch spent six months on the island serving as Unit Publicist. During that time, he produced and directed a one-hour documentary about the making of the film that was distributed internationally and aired domestically on the Arts & Entertainment Network.

Gorsuch has since written more than two dozen feature-length scripts for cable and home video. He has also penned over fifty half-hour teleplays for various series airing on HBO, Cinemax and Showtime. Most recently, he has written, produced and directed numerous reality programs across the country, including 40 one-hour specials for In Demand Pay-Per-View.

2006 marked the release of The Butcher – a feature film Gorsuch directed for Mainline Releasing, which was distributed through Lionsgate. Gorsuch is currently in pre-production on Three Hunters, a family drama he is producing with Lord of the Ring’s producer Barrie Osborne and he is in development as creator, producer and director on the reality series Wrecking Havoc.
