TOM J. ASTLE co-wrote Get Smart, and is currently working on another comedy feature for Warner Brothers. He and screenwriting partner Matt Ember previously wrote Failure to Launch for Paramount Pictures and before that worked for many years in television as solo writer-producers. Astle’s television credits include Coach, The Hughleys, Stargate, and many others. He created the long-running Disney Channel series So Weird and before that won an Emmy award for writing another children’s series, Adventures in Wonderland. He is a graduate of Northwestern University’s film school and currently lives in Sherman Oaks when he isn’t sneaking away to go fishing in his native Montana.
MATT EMBER (screenwriter) also wrote Get Smart. He doesn’t want anyone to think Tom J. Astle wrote it all by himself. Granted, he did all the typing. But Tom did none of the pacing. Anyway… he is working on another WB comedy, with Tom J. Astle, and he too co-wrote Failure to Launch and previously toiled many years in television. His credits include Becker, Titus, The Drew Carey Show, and Grace Under Fire. He has written no shows for children. He does, however, like children. Especially his own. And Tom’s. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University, and he lives in Sherman Oaks. Not very far from Tom J. Astle.
