Retired Physicain & Surgeon: Neophyte Screenwriter, Curator
I am keenly interested in the Red Sea, which I believe was the cradle of a group of prospering civilizations, that existed shortly after the end of the last great ice age.
Reading, writing, sailing, swimming, exploring new highways and byways, particularly ancient historical and archeological sites. Sitting on my balcony listening to, and gazing at the beautiful blue Mediterranean: My first Love. And of course, having a wonderful candlelit meal with my lovely wife. My great love.
Most recent: Conrads, Victory: Herodotus, The Histories: Howards, Moon of Skulls: Hodgson's, The Ghost Pirates
Favorite US: Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, Key Largo, On the Waterfront, High Noon, The Deer Hunter, Reds, Blade Runner, Apocalypse Now, The Godfather, Pulp Fiction, Silence of the Lambs, Heat, As Good as it Gets, Titanic, Fight Club, Gangs of New York.
Favorite Foreign: Ladri di' Brcillette, La Dolce Vita, Les Diabolique, Das Boot, Skammen, Les Enfants du Paradis, La Belle e' la Bete, The Seventh Seal
Most Recent: Michael Clayton, Sweeney Todd, Atonment, 3:10 to Yuma, Henry and June, There will be Blood, Modigilani
Fortunately/Unfortunately, I spend much of my time in a small Mediterranean village with limited access to current movies.
Boycotting it for the moment.
Recently I posted a blog seeking advice on screenwriting software. I did get some feedback, with most recommending Final Draft. One person suggested that I take a look at Celtx, a free download at: www.celtx.com. As I noted in my first blog I am inexperienced with screenwriting software, but this program looks good, especially when you consider the price.
Have any of you used this program. Any pros/cons, comments.

I was born in Mexico City, Mexico, and spent most of my youth shuffling between Mexico City and San Francisco, California. At Eighteen I moved to Spain where I spent several years working as an ordinary seaman and crew member on a number of luxury yacht's. In the early 60's I returned to San Francisco with the intention of attending college. The Height Ashbury got in the way of that for about a year, but despite that very wild excursion, I finally managed to attend the University of California at Berkeley, and Antioch College where I procured baccalaureate and advanced degrees in fine art and psychology. During my last year in Berkeley I made a series of films attempting to instruct basic artistic methodologies for the California Department of Education. I spent the next two years meandering the highways and byways of San Francisco, trying to survive as a starving artist. Tiring of a protracted diet of rice and beans, I returned to Spain where I spent the next two years eking out a living as a street artist. After having twenty nine of my paintings representing almost three years of work stolen, I returned to my family home in Mexico, where my father convinced me, “to make some sense out of my life." To appease the gods, daemons, family, and to improve the diet of rice and beans, I spent the next eight years attending the Universidad Autónoma, Escuela de Medicina, where I was awarded degrees in medicine and surgery.
During the past thirty years I have maintained a primary residence in Spain, with small secondary homes in Mexico and the United States. I recently completed my first novel; the first of a six book series for children. I have just returned to a screenplay that I started in 1968. Will see? If you have any interest in reviewing a small part of my artistic output go to: www.chimesofcreation.com
Get a series of childrens' books that I am writing/have witten, published. Finish a screenplay that I am working on. Find the location of Opher and Solomon's Emerald Road. Find enough artifactory to support my theory that the true cradle of civilization was in the Red Sea Basin, and to keep standing for as long as these rattling old bones will allow.
