I have only been writing for about 4 years now. My interests includes writing feature length science fiction and horror related screenplays, the kind that made an impression on the motion picture industry back in the fifties and the sixties. I feel that the writers of those scripts were more imaginative and creative than a lot of screenwriters today. Too many movies rely on "tricks" and "special effects" to make up for what is simply a lack of creative ideas. I am married and I have two children, ages eleven and fifteen years old. I am a member of the Chicago branch of the IFP.org independent films association, and an Associate Member of ASA. I have completed one online screenwriters course: Screenwriting 101.
My goal is to write screenplays that will get produced and made into major motion pictures, to learn all I can about the craft of screenwriting and hopefully to be able to make a living at this profession. I would love to be able to produce, or have produced one of my screenplays into an independent production.
