About Me
I grew up near Yosemite, California, in the Gold Rush town of Mariposa. I've known since I was ten that movies were my passion. Motion pictures to me are the perfect art form, combining writing, acting, music, photography, storytelling, artistic design all into one. They are descended from cave paintings, since they appear on a wall in the dark that the audience, in pews, faces, and now have 5.1 surround.
Moved to Los Angeles in '87, left in '88, returned at the end of '89 and have been here ever since, freelancing as an assistant editor in feature films for Warner Bros., Disney and Paramount. Did some VFX work at Sony Imageworks. Have a well-rounded knowledge of what it takes to make a film and am grateful to have dabbled in most aspects of the industry. Time to make my own movies now!
Goal
I've written five complete screenplays and a stage play. I am creating a promotional portfolio for my thriller, FOLKLORE, a poster and promotional trailer, which can be seen at myspace.com/sean1966ad. I write to direct. I want to direct what I write. So far, I have. Not much, but it's something.
