To Entertain and To Enlighten - With a Great Story
To visit each and every one of the 134 countries listed in the last United Nations census. I have already travelled through about 20% of them, but that still leaves a lot of room for inner-planetary exploration. And a whole lotta food to sample!
My interests tend to be eclectic and diverse. Anything from Chinua Achebe to Margaret Atwood, James Baldwin to Dan Brown, James Clavell to Bryce Courtney, Charles Dickens to Alexandre Dumas, Jamaica Kincaid to Stephen King, Gabriel Garcia Marquez to Toni Morrison, Michael Ondaatje to Flannery O'Connor, James Patterson to Jodi Picoult, William Styron to John Sandford and anything by America's greatest living writer - John Updike.
Too many to mention, but here are a few: Casablanca, North By Northwest, Three Days of the Condor, High Plains Drifter, The Godfather, Alien, Fargo, Do The Right Thing, Lilies of the Field, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?, Sleepless in Seattle, Back to the Future, E.T., America, America, Unforgiven, Traffic, Papillon, The Longest Day, Vertigo, The African Queen.
Not a whole lot here, but some include: Sanford & Son, The Jeffersons, The Cosby Show, In Living Color, Mad TV, Saturday Night Live, Roots Mini-Series, Shogun Mini-Series.
I am currently polishing my latest - an action/thriller.
To share unique and memorable stories with the world. Stories that can educate, enlighten and entertain, but not necessarily in that order.
I agree with Steven Spielberg when he said: "It all starts with the story."
