An unemployed reporter and socialite on the lam mutually agree to help each other out but find their growing attraction is getting in the way of their goals.
Synopsis
Anthony is a 35 year old out of work reporter who has used every contact he had and a few he didn’t. Almost broke, he hops a Greyhound bus to go home and lick his wounds. Who else should happen to be on the bus, trying to remain incognito but Dana, the infamous hotel heiress. Recently engaged to a notorious fortune hunter, she is on her way to meet her intended all the while trying to avoid her parents and the press. Unable to access her money, Dana has used the last of her resources on the ticket and Anthony senses a once in a lifetime opportunity. Offering her help in exchange for an exclusive, Anthony thinks he just scored the easiest scoop in his professional life. How wrong he is. Almost immediately the two begin bickering and get kicked off the bus. Dana’s demands in town attract too much attention and the two must flee. Now with her parents and the press tipped off and only $250 left in Anthony’s bank account, the duo is dependent upon each other to get what they both need. Hitching rides and walking along the country roads, Anthony begins to see Dana in her unguarded moments and realizes she is more than just a spoiled princess who has had everything handed to her. She’s just another girl trying to live the life she wants. Dana has never met anyone quite like Anthony, whose ingenuity saves them more than once and has no compunctions about putting her in her place. As they get closer and closer to their goals, Dana begins to waver in her devotion to her fiancé (who maybe she only ever liked because Daddy didn’t) and Anthony begins to wonder if the scoop of a lifetime is worth selling out his feelings for Dana. Can the two reconcile how they feel about each other? Or will they both take the safe route?
