StoryLink.com and Your Privacy
StoryLink.com is committed to protecting its Members’ online privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information StoryLink collects and how that information is used in the operation of the Website. All information StoryLink collects will adhere to this Privacy Policy and will be used for the sole purpose of providing its Members a highly personalized and interactive experience. No personal information collected from Members will ever be sold or leased to any third party without the proper consent. Member questions about this Privacy Policy can be submitted in the Contact Us area of the Website.

Collection and Use of Information
Information submitted by StoryLink users during membership registration, such as name, email address and age is only used to authenticate users and to send notifications to Members relating to the StoryLink Service. Other profile-related data StoryLink collects includes but is not limited to: personal and professional interests, gender, age and occupation in order to assist users in locating and communicating with other StoryLink Members.

StoryLink further logs non-personally-identifiable information including IP address, profile information, aggregate user data, and browser type, from Members and visitors to the Website. The data is used to manage the Website, track usage and improve the Services. Only this non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third-parties to improve StoryLink’s Services and advertisements to Members. User IP addresses are recorded for security and monitoring purposes only.

Members’ Profiles including photos and first names are displayed to facilitate Member interaction on the StoryLink Website. Email addresses are used for the purposes of Member communications and for Service-related notifications. Except as mentioned above, a Member’s email address is not shared or displayed. Members within a personal network communicate on StoryLink without disclosing their email addresses. Members’ last names are only revealed to other members if Member chooses that selection in her/his personal preference set-up in the My StoryLink area of the Website. To facilitate searching and finding other Members with whom you share common interests, StoryLink allows Members to search for other members using first and last name, or email address.

Email and Other Preferences
StoryLink may send news, updates or a newsletter to Members’ email address. Members may change their privacy setting at any time in order not to receive some StoryLink-related mail by visiting the Account Settings section in the My StoryLink area on the StoryLink.com Website. StoryLink membership, privacy and use-related email cannot be turned off.

Third Party Promotions
StoryLink or one of its partners may occasionally sponsor promotions or contests. In order to participate in these contests StoryLink members may be asked to provide personal information such as name, email address or mailing address, or to answer certain questions. If Members request information from one of StoryLink’s partners through the StoryLink.com Website, StoryLink will transmit only the necessary and authorized personal information to said partners.

Invitations and Communications to Non-members
Email addresses provided by StoryLink Members to invite associates to join the Service are stored to send up to three reminders of the invitation to the StoryLink Members’ associates. StoryLink does not sell these email addresses or use them to send any other communication.

StoryLink Members may also store electronic and/or physical contact information in their internal StoryLink address book of people not in their personal network. Members may also choose to send invitations and other communications to those addresses. These data are private and will not be used by StoryLink for any purpose.

Cookies and Third Party Advertising
Cookies allow ad servers to recognize certain computers each time it is sent an online advertisement. In this way, ad servers may compile information about where the computer user saw their advertisements and determine which ads are clicked on. This information allows an ad network to deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest.

In order to improve Members’ experience StoryLink uses cookies. StoryLink cookies provide Member convenience by storing Members’ usage preferences and customize Web page content based on the provided information, but are never linked to Members’ personally-identifiable information.

StoryLink’s Privacy Policy contained herein is not responsible for the Privacy Policy practices on websites Members might link to through the StoryLink Services.

Information Posted by Members throughout StoryLink.com
Information posted by Members is public and might be used by others to send unsolicited communications.

Security
StoryLink Members secure their accounts by self-created passwords. StoryLink restricts access to Member data to those employees who need access to perform their job functions, such as customer service personnel and technical staff. StoryLink cannot guarantee the security of member account information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of Member information at any time. Sharing and Disclosure of Information StoryLink.com Collects
Except as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy, StoryLink will not disclose personal information to any third party unless we believe that disclosure is necessary: (1) to conform to legal requirements or to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other legal process received by StoryLink, whether or not a response is required by applicable law; (2) to enforce the StoryLink Terms of Use Agreement or to protect our rights; or (3) to protect the safety of members of the public and Members of the Service. StoryLink reserves the right to transfer personal information to a successor in interest that acquires rights to that information as a result of the sale of StoryLink or substantially all of its assets to that successor in interest.

Changes in Our Privacy Policy
From time to time we may make changes to our Privacy Policy. Any changes of our Privacy Policies will be posted on the Website so that our Members will always be up-to-date on the information we collect and StoryLink’s use of such. Once Members use the Website after changes to this Privacy Policy have been posted they are bound by the changes, no matter how minor they might be.

Your California Privacy Rights
California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the “Shine The Light” law, permits our customers who are California residents to request and obtain from us once a year, free of charge, information about the personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year. If applicable, this information would include a list of the categories of personal information that was shared and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared information in the immediately preceding calendar year, and, if the nature of the third parties’ business cannot reasonably be determined from the third parties’ name, examples of the products or services marketed, if known to us.
