RAY BRADBURY, THE WORLD-FAMOUS AUTHOR & SCREENWRITER TO SPEAK AT SCRIPTWRITERS NETWORK EVENT*
On Saturday, February 10, the Scriptwriters Network is honored to host a true living legend of American 20th and 21st century literature: RAY BRADBURY. Over a period of 60 years, Mr. Bradbury has published more than 600 short stories along with novels, screenplays, plays, and poetry. His best known books include The Martian Chronicles, The Illustrated Man, Something Wicked This Way Comes, and in its 50th anniversary year, Fahrenheit 451. He wrote the screenplay for Moby Dick for John Huston in 1953. In 2005 a film was released, based on his short story, A Sound of Thunder. Other films based on his stories will be forthcoming, including a new version of The Martian Chronicles, to be produced by Universal; as well as Fahrenheit 451, written and directed by Frank Darabont.
LOCATION & TIME: Glendale Central Library Auditorium, 222 East Harvard Street in Glendale. Doors open at 1:00 pm, with the speaker to begin at 1:30. Parking validated for first 3 hours FREE at the Marketplace Parking Structure (In the Good Guys lot) 120 South Maryland Avenue, across the street from the library. Non-member admission is $15.00 ($10 for members of WGA, Women in Film, FIND, FIN, or Jeff Gund’s Info List). No RSVP required.
