"The Visual Mindscape of the Screenplay"
Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at CBS / Radford
MUST RSVP by Thursday, April 17 at info@scriptwritersnetowork.org / DO NOT RSVP VIA STORYLINK.COM
The Scriptwriters proudly presents filmmaker, Bill Boyle. He’ll discuss writing visually for screenwriters. Because, a screenplay is a story expressed first in images. It is experienced through a sort of “visual mindscape” that allows the reader to participate in the unfolding of the dramatic structure rather than being told. The screenplay needs to find a substitution for the inner motivations of your characters with external symbols. In this lecture Bill Boyle explores the Visual Mindscape in all its forms; Discovery, Withholding, the Law Contradiction, the Metaphoric Image and the Transition of Location and Time through visual exploration. Veteran screenwriter Bill Boyle has been involved in the film industry in both Canada and the U.S. for over 25 years as a writer, director, agent, producer, story editor, and mentor.
