Ok. Well, I have written some short, comedy sketches and just finished my first screenplay. I submitted it to my first screenwriting competition and am thinking of who to get to pitch it.
Why not me? Well, I don't have a web cam or anything like that and most of all, I would prefer if someone else did it. Problem is, I'm in NY right now-which is why I can't attend any expos, conferences.
I would like to have a female actor or writer do it. I suppose I shoud wait to hear from the first place I entered it and do the unavoidable editing first.
Has anyone else thought about doing a video pitch?

Hello,

Make sure you recieve tons of coverages (free ones and from the professional readers in the film industry).

Enter all the contests that provide free feedback.

Know the theme of your script.

Do not hype your pitch.

Do you have any "professionals" in the business complimenting your script?

Let the script sell itself.

Regards

Benjamin

Hi Mary,

Not only have people thought about doing a video pitch, there's actually a feature on this very website designed exactly for that. Just click on the Pitch Perfect option on the home page...or right now...since it's at the top of the page.

We've obviously got to do a better job of getting the word out.

Hi Benjamin:
I took you up on your suggestion and emailed Phil. I caught him in a particularly depresssed yet, motivated, inspirational mood when he emailed his most recent newsletter from the screewritinggoldmine. He was describing his displeasure for a recent Academy Award winning movie that is extremely dark and depresssing.
So, I wrote back to him with a spontaneously written yet improved version of the logline for my comedy screenplay. He wrote back, "HA! It sounds like fun, Mary! You should post it on Storylink".

I am still working on that as I haven't been able to crack the code of working with the way I have my documents saved and unlocking them from my file locker......
How are you?
Thank you for your suggesstion! I am going to have it framed eventually!
Have a swell day!
