Hi Everybody...
Okay, I signed up a few weeks ago... I work in Hollywood (film production) and I'm glad to be here, but to my dismay it appears that very few people actually ever use this site (Storylink) for networking.
In fact, of the entire 6830+ people who have signed up, over 95% haven't even "signed in" for over a year, or two or more. Many have never bothered to "write" any info on their Profile about who they are, or why they joined. That's hardly networking.
And for writers who specialize in communicating mental images to others by way of the written word... why are so few of you not bothering to put up a photo (or an image) to reflect who you are or your interests? I mean, how hard is that? Come on, we're in the business of (moving) pictures, right?
Yeah, yeah, I know. Some of us are completely absorbed & swamped with knocking out the next great American Novel (or Oscar-winning screenplay). Who has the time?
But there must be a few of you who can afford to take a break long enough to at least meet on-line and occasionally communicate with other like-minded & creative types in forums such as this... After all, this site was created specifically for Writers interested in networking with other Writers.
So, here's my challenge... If you're reading this, let's get a "discussion" going to see how many people are actively using this site (or Group).
Question of the Month: What Movie(s) and/or Book(s) inspired you to become a Writer?
PS And if you haven't done it already, try to find a picture of "anything" you feel represents you, and post it on your Profile!
