Thanks for the info Brent, the switched work. I only recently installed a new computer and old soph would not open. Re did the trial, etc, I will not belabor the point about the mess. So I found this site and read through and found the answers. The funny part about the whole deal, I sent my play off last month to three different theatres in D.C. via email, play attached. May the Gods of the stage work their magic in opening my attachment.

Brent, I have a 2003 version of Sophocles. Three months ago I bought a new laptop and transfered my files from my old laptop and my Sophocles returned to to the trial version. I tried to reload the key that I was given from Mr. Sheehan a few years ago and no luck. Can you help?
Thanks,
Richard
Sophocles 1.1 (2003) is iffy to fix. See your messages.

Just wondering if there has been any news regarding the, Great Sophocles Mystery?
I still tinker with the Sophocles program, though, I do most of my writing in Movie Magic 6.
It is a shame that the program has been abandoned.
Each time I tinker around a little, I am even more surprised just how much this one program(Sophocles Beta 2007) actually contains.
It would be necessary to purchase around half a dozen applications to obtain the same spread of uses(Functionality) as this one Sophocles(BETA) program entails.
You literally can do everything in the one program.
Even if the main players(Movie Magic Screenwriter) and (Final Draft), were to incorperate some of the features that Sophocles included, I would not feel at all dissapointed with this outcome.
The only way I(And I imagine most other Sophocles users) could rely solely on the Sophocles Application, would be if the Company came back on line, or a support base was constructed consisting of dedicated users, along with those of a more " tech savvy nature".
On another note, Many thanks Brent for your dedication in assisting those many Sophocles users, now without a home(Official Sophocles support site).
By doing this(Keeping the lines of communication open between Sophocles users), you are allowing for a (Quite miniscule) possibility that, the program could have life breathed back into it(A permanent support base developed).
Kind regards,
Danny.

Hey, I heard you're helping people out with Sophocles... I got a new comp because my old one died and unfortunately can't access my old scripts. Any help would be appreciated :)
Hey, guys, check your messages.
Brent,
I have been reading this thread for the last 30 minutes and think you are the best thing on the internet. I found this thread because I too have sophocles on an older computer and am trying to get it loaded on a new one. I started using this program about 7 years ago and have had it on three different computers but this time when I upgraded computers and went to find the web site I found you instead. If you would be so kind to help me as you have so many other. Thank you in advance for your help for me and all the others who felt abandon.

I'm also in the same situation - dedicated Sophocles user who has written 4 scripts in .scb format since 2003. Can't export them because I've replaced my laptop, and I'm unable to get a new key for the beta. I have an email from my trashed computer's activation, but of course it doesn't work, and I'm unable to get a new key.

I just found this forum. I finally got back to screenwriting again and as with many others, my previous scripts are locked in Sophocles 2003... I can't print or export them anymore...can someone help point me to the beta/fix or give me some ideas how i can continue to use Sophocles 2003?
What a shame this program vanished.
