PURPOSE OF THE CONTEST
To promote and support new talent and continue our pledge of creating opportunities for new writers by providing financial rewards, software to assist in future projects, and promotion of the writer and project to agents, studios and production companies.
FEEDBACK OPTION
For $40 more than the basic entry fee, you can get 2-5 pgs. of coverage-style feedback on your entry! This is the easiest and most economical way to get studio level feedback and still be eligible to place in the contest.

All of the contest winners will be announced and promoted to over 5,200+ entertainment industry professionals. Our winners get their scripts read!
All five winners each also receive a 6 month placement of their script on Inktip.com -- and their winning script logline will appear in Inktip's newsletter which is mailed to over 4,500 industry professionals.
First-Third Place winners receive an emailed Query Letter Blast for their script to producers, and/or agents and managers courtesy of Script Delivery.

This contest is open to anyone except all employees, directors, associates, the immediate families of StoryPros, and all the affiliates and/or sponsors.
The script must have a title page containing: the title, author's name, E-mail address, phone number and home address. WGA Registration or Federal Registered Copyright is recommended but not required.
Submissions must be: feature length (narrative); 85 minimum to 140 pages maximum; in any genre.
Multiple entries are permissible, but each entry must be accompanied by an Entry Form, signed, and an applicable entry fee.
Once a script has been entered, no substitutions of new drafts or corrected pages will be considered. You may submit a revised draft of your script, as a new submission and pay the appropriate entry fee.
Adaptations from other works are permissible provided you have the writer's written permission to adapt the work.
Adaptations of works in the public domain are permissible.
Collaborative work is eligible, but each must fill and sign an Entry Form individually. The writers are responsible for the distribution of the contest prize (s) between themselves.
Writers under the age of 18 years old must sign the Entry Form and have a parent or guardian sign the Entry Form.
Contest applicants must accept without reservation the decisions rendered by the jurors.
The screenplay must not have been previously optioned, sold, or produced for profit.
Once a script has been entered, no substitutions of new drafts or corrected pages will be considered. You may submit a revised draft of your script, as a new submission and pay the appropriate entry fee.
Writer understands and accepts without reservation that he/she/ is an independent contractor and StoryPros are not responsible for withholding any taxes or payments to any government agency, at any level, be it state, local or federal.
Writer understands that it is his/her sole responsibility to register Material with the U.S. Copyright Office and/or with the Writer's Guild of America.
You have retained at least one copy of the submitted material, and you understand that all material we receive cannot and will not be returned under any circumstances.
You have the option to include a one page synopsis of your screenplay.
Script must be in industry standard format. Formatting IS taken into consideration in judging.
The screenplay must be written in English.
If a hardcopy entry is submitted, it must be bound with two or three brads and have card stock covers. The script should be no less than 85 pages and should not exceed 130 pages (typical feature length films). Exceptions to these pages limits must get approval from StoryPros prior to entry.
Font must be 12-point Courier, Courier New or Courier Final Draft.
All scripts must be postmarked or submitted online by November 30, 2009. StoryPros retains the right to extend the final deadline with a late deadline at our discretion.
The final deadline may be extended at the sole discretion of StoryPros but if the final deadline is extended, it will not go past Dec. 15th, 2009. The final contest winning results (First through Fith Place) will be announced on January 1st, 2010. Quarterfinalists and Semifinalists will be announced in late Dec. 2009.
StoryPros is not responsible for late or lost submissions.
When your submission is received you will be notified by E-mail only (within a few hours). So please provide an E-mail address (LEGIBLY WRITTEN or TYPED). If you do not hear from us within a reasonable time send an email to submit@storypros.com and include your name, address, phone number and title of your script. If your email address and/or home address changes please let us know.
By entering this contest and in the event you are declared a finalist (top 10), semifinalist, or quarterfinalist, you understand and accept that we will be free to use your name and likeness for advertising or promotional purposes without additional consideration. You always retain all rights to your material.
If you are a finalist or semifinalist you agree to give StoryPros.com the permission to post on its web site, your script's logline, synopsis and excerpts.
