Tucson, Arizona – ScriptDoctor.com, ranked 4th in the nation by Creative Screenwriting magazine, calls for entries to its second annual ScriptDoctor’s Open Screenplay Competition. Distinct from our Contest of Contest Winners™, in which the entrant must have won or placed as a finalist or quarter-finalist in a screenplay competition within the last five years, the open competition welcomes all writers and genres of scripts. As a bonus, all entrants will receive a complimentary ScriptDoctor Check Up consisting of expert feedback on their screenplays in the form of brief coverage and a score sheet, a $125.00 value.
Brian Pulido, a regular ScriptDoctor client and the 2006 Grand Prize winner of the prominent FADE IN Awards, states, “For what it is worth, I've written professionally for 15 years (over 200 comic books written solo, 50 if you include stuff I've co-written) and ScriptDoctor’s coaching is invaluable. As a rule, before I send out a screenplay to agents, etc., I get Howard's unbiased feedback. This has resulted in a grand prize win at a major screenwriting contest -- FADE IN magazine 1st place -- on my 2nd screenplay ever.” Brian Pulido was also recently hired by Turner Broadcasting to write two stories for the Lara Croft: Tomb Raider Re-Envisioned animated project.
So if you’re looking for a great deal, here’s the Doctor’s advice: Enter your script by the early bird deadline of August 1, 2007 (extended) and pay a $45.00 entry fee, or enter by the regular deadline of September 1, 2007 (extended) and pay a $50.00 entry fee (see www.ScriptDoctor.com for detailed application procedure). Then sit back and enjoy a feeling of wellbeing knowing that no matter what the result, your screenplay will receive valuable feedback from one of our experts. Then look forward to December 1, 2007 when the winner and all finalists will be announced on our website and in the media. And watch for the early Contest Of Contest Winners deadline October 1.
If you become the Open Competition winner, then by Doctor’s orders, publicity on the Internet, and your script’s log line sent to over a hundred agents and production companies. In addition, your script will be automatically entered into this year’s Contest of Contest Winners™, compliments of ScriptDoctor.
Here are the biographies of just a couple of ScriptDoctor’s medical staff: Howard Allen, MFA, Executive Director of ScriptDoctor, is a professional actor, director, screenwriter, and college instructor of screenwriting and acting.
