IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO GET YOUR SCRIPT(S) IN FOR THE 2009 OBS ORIGINAL SCRIPT CONTEST!

Yes, that's right the deadline has been extended:
SCRIPTS MUST BE POSTMARKED BY: AUGUST 31, 2009

We've added TV SPEC CATEGORY to our contest!

We're now accepting entries of Television Spec Scripts.

Only spec scripts for shows currently in production will be accepted!

We'll announce a 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place winner in this category.

1st & 2nd place winners will receive a meeting with Showrunner of a major television production.

3rd Place winner will take a one-on-one script review with WGA Writer.

Don't miss an opportunity to enter this contest. This is a great opportunity to launch your screenwriting career and get your projects noticed by studio and network executives.

The objective of this contest is Industry exposure for the writer. We're using our resources to assist in either: opportunity as creator of a new television series, staffing on a television show, and/or a freelance opportunity to write for a current television show. Additionally, on the feature side, we're employing our resources to assist in getting the writer an option/sell of his or her feature film.

1st PLACE WINNER will meet with TWO creative executives one from Overbrook Entertainment and one Our Stories Films via phone or in-person based on executive's schedule(s).
2nd PLACE WINNER will meet with creative executive from Overbrook Entertainment
3rd PLACE WINNER will receive a One-On-One Script Review Lunch w/Academy Award Nominated Writer/producer, Laurence Andries.

ORIGINAL TV PILOT WINNERS
1st PLACE WINNER will meet with TWO creative executives one at The CW Network and one from Overbrook Entertainment.
2nd PLACE WINNER will meet with creative executive from Overbrook Entertainment
3rd PLACE WINNER will receive a One-On-One Script Review Lunch with a participating WGA Writer.

Rules

I. Writers MUST print WGA or Copyright registration # on Title page.

II. Scripts MUST be free of author's name and contact information. Attached submission forms will contain all contact information.

III. Writers interested in receiving coverage on their submitted scripts should send two copies and add $25 to the entry fee.

IV. OBS will accept a maximum of four scripts per writer. One fee per script.

V. Scripts will not be accepted: Unbound or unregistered. Scripts MUST meet industry standards.

VI. When there are multiple writers of a script, each writer MUST submit an entry form. All forms MUST be enclosed with script submission.

VII. Finalists will be selected by experienced readers. Winners in each category will be selected by a participating OBS board member.

VIII. Contest is open to all writers. Please note, if you are a professional writer that earns a living as a television writer you are NOT ELIGIBLE to submit in TELEVISION category. If you are a professional writer that has optioned, sold, &/or been paid for, maker a living as a feature film writer; you are NOT ELIGIBLE to submit in the FEATURE category. Open to all races/ethnicities.

Finalists and winners will be announce at the OBS meeting. After that, it will be posted on our website, sent via ptress release, and a posting on Facebook OBS Fan Page.
