Producer's Reps.

I have had a few experiences with Producer's Representatives and I would like to know about others. I have paid large sums of money to two of them and for what? One told me that he hated my film basically and that it wouldn't make a nickel, which it has and quite a bit more. The other charged $10,500.00 and said she loved my film, but never provided any proof of marketing it. This is my short story of my experience with 2 reps... Yours?

Hi, I'm planning a feature film project, and doing research on Producer's Reps. The one you mention here, who charged $10.5k -- Was that Page Ostrow and Company by any chance? Because I just got of the phone with Page, and she told me that's how much she charges. If it was her, I would like to know more about your experience with her.

Thanks very much

Your agent charged you a $10,500. fee?? Was that their commission?? Something doesn't make sense here. Are you still represented by these people?

Actually, as an agent you are probably better off without one specific agent. You can trade off with other agents if you are a free player, by letting each one represent you on a case by case basis if they give you some good material that sells. This is quite legal and very good business sense.
