HOW FAST DOES HOLLYWOOD REALLY MOVE?

So...a few weeks ago I received a phone call from someone offering me a job. I asked how they got my cell phone number, and the woman on the other line replied, I have your resume on my desk with a sticky note that says, "this is our guy." She said below, that my phone number was attached. She proceeded to tell me how a Mr. SS and Mr. MB were co-producing a new show. As if i didn't already know that. At first I thought it was a joke, but the more we talked, the more I started to realize she was the real deal. I became extremely excited...prematurely. She said, Ari, we would like to offer you a job as our assistant sound mixer. She then said hold on one second. When she came back to line I was prepared to tell her...ABSOLUTLY!!! I didn't get that chance however. She said, I am sorry to inform you, but someone else just called back and has taken the job. Next time, I will say yes the minute I get a hello!
